Denim at the front and elastic behind. That combination keeps a flat front while allowing give, and it is why the waist figures are printed as a range rather than a single number.
At 18.1 inches this is among the longer skorts here, so the inner shorts are doing less work than they do on the 13.4 inch faux leather one.
Dark blue, light blue and black, all plain. Distressing is what usually dates a denim skirt, and there is none here. It also means the three read as three depths of one skirt rather than three different looks.
