Moon Wood started with one complaint we kept hearing: thigh highs are sold as one size, and one size is knitted for a leg most women do not have. A 27 inch thigh flattens a standard band, a flat band slides, and the pair is around the knee by lunchtime. So we began knitting hosiery to a thigh circumference we would print, and put silicone behind the band instead of relying on elastic to squeeze.
The rest of the range grew out of the same argument. Skirts, pinafores and overall dresses graded XL to 5XL, with waist and hip in inches, because a letter on a label tells nobody anything.
What we make
97 pieces across five sections. 75 of them are graded to a chart with real inch measurements, and those charts are printed on the product pages as we grade them, rounding and all. 26 are made as one size, which we say plainly rather than dressing it up.

Why the measurements get top billing
Hosiery is the one category where a size letter tells you almost nothing. Two pairs both labelled XL can be twelve inches apart at the thigh. Across our own range the thigh figures span 22.8 to 39 inches and the waist figures span 24 to 78 inches, which is a wider spread than any single letter can carry. So this site is organised around the inch, not the letter. The fit finder takes one measurement and shows only the pieces we cut to reach it.
Where you actually buy
We do not run a checkout here. Moon Wood pieces are sold through our storefront, and every button on this site opens the item there in a new tab. Payment, shipping, tracking and returns all happen on that side, under their terms.
