Leg warmers
Knee socks with a cable knit face and a brushed fleece lining inside, knitted for cold months rather than for looks alone. They are made to go under boots and over tights, and the elastic knit holds them at the knee without a band biting into the leg. This is the warmest thing we knit that still stops below the thigh.

This is the chart we grade this piece to. Measurements are in inches and describe the garment flat, not the body that goes in it.
| Size | US SHOE SIZE |
|---|---|
| One Size | 6.5 -10 |
The outside is a cable knit in acrylic, 60 per cent of the blend, and the inside is a brushed polyester fleece that makes up the other 40. The knitted face lets some air through, so the warmth does not turn into damp heat on a long walk indoors and out. The cables also hold the shape of the leg instead of flattening into a tube after a day.
These arrive vacuum packed, which presses the fleece flat and makes them look thinner than they are. Leave them out of the packaging for an hour or two and rub the pile gently with your hands, and the loft comes back. We say this on every fleece pair we send out, because the first impression out of the wrapping is misleading otherwise.
We grade these to a shoe size rather than a calf measurement, and the range is 6.5 to 10. The elastic knit stretches up the leg from there, which is how one pair covers a span of calves. We have not graded this one to a calf circumference chart, so if your calf is well outside the usual run, treat the knee height as approximate.
White, black, burgundy, grey and light pink. Hand washing in cold water is what we grade them for, and heat in a dryer is what ruins the fleece and the cable face together. The rating is 4.8, though only 6 people have left one, so read that as a small sample rather than a verdict.
