That is the stretch we build in, and it is why this belt sits in a plus size range at all. Most waist garters top out well short of it and then dig in for the last few inches.
A belt and four straps, each adjusting between 10 and 30 inches. Four is the number that keeps a stocking top level rather than pulling it into a point at the front.
Duckbill metal clips grip the stocking top through the fabric instead of relying on a rubber nub in a loop, which is the mechanism that lets go first on cheaper belts.
Nylon elastic joined to metal hardware, with the edges sealed rather than raw. Raw elastic edges on a garter belt fray from the inside where you cannot see them.
