A corduroy pinafore with adjustable metal buckles, wide straps and a lace trimmed bib pocket at the chest. The cord is a 95 per cent blend with spandex, so it has give across the hip where plain corduroy would not. It is the autumn piece in our overalls section that gets worn over a shirt one week and a jumper the next.

Straight corduroy holds its shape but fights you at the hip. We cut this one in a blend that is 95 cord to 5 spandex, which keeps the wale and the weight while letting the skirt move. The texture resists creasing in the places a pinafore usually creases, across the lap and behind the knee, so a day at a desk does not show on it.
Wide shoulder straps on sturdy metal buckles, so the bib sits where you put it rather than sliding through the hardware over the course of a morning. Short and long torsos both get a fit out of the same garment, which matters more on a pinafore than on anything else we make. The straps are broad enough not to dig in under a coat.
Two deep pockets at the sides take a phone and keys without gaping, and the chest bib has a third with a lace trim across the top. The bib pocket is shallow by design and is better for a card or a pen than for anything heavy. The side pockets are set into the seam, so filling them does not pull the A line skirt out of shape.
Four colourways: black, army green, brown and wine red. Our chart gives waist, hip and length in inches across five rows, from a 44.1 waist and 63 hip at XL up to 56.7 and 78.7 at 5XL. Length moves only from 22.4 to 24 inches over that span, so the skirt lands higher on a taller frame than the figures alone suggest.
